At OXWaste, we offer discounted rates on bulky waste collections for Oxford residents receiving financial support. We understand that the term 'financial support' can mean different things to different people, so here’s a simple explanation to help you check if you're eligible.
What does 'financial support' mean?
Millions of people receive government financial support for a variety of reasons. Whilst there are lots of different types of benefits available; we are only able to offer our discounted bulky waste collection service if you currently claim one of the following benefits.
Housing Benefit
Council Tax Support
Universal Credit (with a Housing Element)
If you receive one of these, you may qualify for a further discount on your bulky waste collection service.
How do I check if i'm on the right type of benefit?
If you're unsure, here are a few quick ways to find out:
Housing Benefit / Council Tax Support You’ll usually receive letters or emails from Oxford City Council confirming these. You can also check your account or contact the council directly if you're not sure.
Universal Credit Log in to your Universal Credit online account and check your most recent statement. If it includes a line for the Housing Element, you qualify.
