At OXWaste, we offer discounted rates on bulky waste collections for Oxford residents receiving financial support. We understand that the term 'financial support' can mean different things to different people, so here’s a simple explanation to help you check if you're eligible.

What does 'financial support' mean?

Millions of people receive government financial support for a variety of reasons. Whilst there are lots of different types of benefits available; we are only able to offer our discounted bulky waste collection service if you currently claim one of the following benefits.

  • Housing Benefit

  • Council Tax Support

  • Universal Credit (with a Housing Element)

If you receive one of these, you may qualify for a further discount on your bulky waste collection service.

How do I check if i'm on the right type of benefit?

If you're unsure, here are a few quick ways to find out:

  • Housing Benefit / Council Tax Support
    You’ll usually receive letters or emails from Oxford City Council confirming these. You can also check your account or contact the council directly if you're not sure.

  • Universal Credit
    Log in to your Universal Credit online account and check your most recent statement. If it includes a line for the Housing Element, you qualify.
